How to apply for ‘Apni Chat Apna Ghar’ scheme Step by step guide

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched the ‘Apni Chat Apna Ghar’ housing scheme, aiming to provide affordable homes and loans to the province’s citizens.

The Chief Minister of Punjab highlighted the urgent need for homeownership, highlighting the struggles faced by those without secure housing.

Scheme implementation

The ‘CM Punjab Apni Chat Apna Ghar’ housing initiative aims to construct over 3,000 homes in each district of Punjab, with equitable resource distribution.

The housing scheme, initially targeting five cities, aims to provide affordable, permanent residences to low and middle-income families in Lahore, with 5,000 homes set to be constructed near Raiwind Road in the first phase.

 Easy payment plans

The scheme offers affordable housing for families with modest incomes, with each apartment priced at Rs. 1.5 million. Residents pay 40% of the total cost, which can be divided into monthly instalments of Rs. 26,000 over five years, ensuring they can achieve their dream of owning a home.

Application process

The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has created an online portal (acag.punjab.gov.pk.) for the scheme, enabling citizens to register, track, and manage their applications from anywhere, and a helpline (0800-09100) for query assistance.

  1. Complete the Citizen Registration Form by providing the following details:

The Chief Minister’s Apni Chhat Apna Ghar project aims to provide interest-free loans to around 70,000 families in the first phase, helping them build their homes on their land, despite financial constraints, according to Anwar.

Social impact and benefits

The ‘Apni Chat Apna Ghar’ program aims to provide affordable housing solutions and contribute to the province’s socio-economic uplift by promoting homeownership, improving living standards, and reducing homelessness, with the government’s focus on inclusive development ensuring no one is left behind.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz highlighted the project’s focus on building futures, ensuring stability, and providing a sense of security for the people of Punjab, not just about building houses.
